Smart Switch is an Electronic Payments Platform that uses a closed loop system to assist Employers to give their clients, staff or beneficiaries access to financial services they may otherwise not have access to
With our wage payment solutions, the Employer and representatives are trained by SSB and provided all software required for Wage Payment from there they can register their relevant beneficiaries biometrically. From there employer deposits funds to be paid into SSB accounts, upon receipt, Employer is instructed to proceed with payments. The Payment file will then be processed by Employer through software provided at training. When all is done Funds will be deposited into beneficiary smartcards and will be available for access immediately. Collection point is at any approved merchant (see question 4) and only fingerprints associated with a card can access funds.
Sales of electricity and airtime are integrated in Food Coupon swiping machines and Telpo machines which are value added services standalone devices. This is a point of sale and administrative system that enables merchants to sell airtime and electricity Vouchers, as well as accept account payments all through the use of a POS terminal.
Currently offering payment solutions for government social grants beneficiaries for Ministry of local government through council offices and local shop owners. The SmartSwitch Electronic Food Coupon System involves the provision of biometrically secure Smartcards to social grant beneficiaries who are then paid each month onto their card via our financial switch.
The SmartCards are embedded with a microchip which contains personal information about the beneficiary as well as a record of their fingerprints for biometric security. These details are written to the card by a Council Officer at the time of enrolling the beneficiary. During the enrolment process, the Council Officer is required to present their fingerprint on the system, thereby providing an audit trail of who enrolled that particular beneficiary and when. Any changes that are made to those beneficiary’s details also require the provision of a fingerprint by the Council Officer.
